Expeditions
Besides trading commodities between Markets, your cargo caravans can also accept Expeditions offered by independent agents. Expeditions usually deal with urgently needed commodities, special items, or important personnel and pay high rewards for completion. In your position as shipper, you are told only what you need to know, namely what is to be transported, where, and how quickly.

Expeditions transport needs are small and do not require wagons, so they can be accepted by any cargo caravan, even if it has full wagons, but expeditions are never allowed to any bandit gangs.

Expeditions travel on special routes allowed only to caravans carrying expedition items. The travel time on these special routes is NOT dependent on the number of Teams that a caravan has, but on the hours of Navigation training. It is important to remember this when accepting a expedition, lest the caravan arrive too late to collect the reward.

Any given expedition offering will be awarded to the first available caravan, so it is imperative that you arrive quickly to get one of them. The expedition must be completed in the specified time or the reward is forfeited. New expeditions are always being offered and can be viewed by clicking Empire News at the top of your screen.

To accept an offered expedition, send a caravan to the market that is offering the expedition, go to the Conduct Business screen for that caravan, and click Accept Expedition at the top of the page. Your caravan will depart immediately with special clearance to get to the expedition destination as quickly as possible.

Most expeditions that markets will offer are those that have been sanctioned by the local government. However, once in a while, prominent special interest groups throughout the Persian Empire will offer expeditions via underground networks in the Markets. These expeditions not only offer silver pieces upon completion of the expedition, but your caravans may also receive training that these groups specialize in.
