Caravan Trades Help Manual

Protecting Your Company
There are all sorts of ways for your company to go downhill. Look over the three main threats, Destruction, Dissolution, and Bankruptcy, and arm yourself with the knowledge to prevent them, and keep your company viable.

Destruction
Your company can be destroyed if all of your caravans are eliminated and you don't have enough silver pieces to buy a new one. To prevent this from happening, make sure to regularly repair the damage on your caravans.

In case of attacks, make sure you have an adequate number of Armor and Weapons on your caravans to fight off the bandits. Having bribe silver pieces on your Caravans can prevent attacks from random mercenary bandits. Above all else, routinely inspect your caravans for damage and repair them.

Dissolution
Your company can be dissolved if it is found making too many illegal transactions or skirting the law in general. What this means is that should you choose to dabble in illegal commodities, stay aware of the risks of getting caught.

If you are caught dealing in prohibited goods and your Legal Standing is at the lowest level, the Caravan Traders Association has the authority to dissolve your company. The best way to avoid this is to not deal in illegal commodities, but you can also lessen your chances of getting apprehended by only trading to Markets with relaxed Law Levels. If you get into too much legal trouble and your Legal Standing gets very low, behave yourself for a while and your Legal Standing will slowly rise back up.

Likewise, if you run a heavily piracy-based business, there is a risk of getting identified too many times and dissolved by the Caravan Traders Association. Again, the best way to avoid this is to not take part in piracy, or at least let your Legal Standing recover from time to time.

Bankruptcy
Your company can go bankrupt if you run out of silver pieces. To prevent this from happening, keep tabs on your company's financial status. Your available Silver Pieces status is easily viewed at any time, as the amount you currently have is always displayed in the top right of each screen.

Excessive commodity buying, unnecessary upgrades, purchasing too many caravans at once, taking out loans from the Royal Bank when you cannot pay the interest, and putting excessive silver pieces on your caravans as bribes can all contribute to your company going bankrupt, so use your silver pieces wisely.

Should you feel that bankruptcy is creeping up on you, you can always take a loan out at the Royal Bank, but if you cannot pay the interest, you will still be declared bankrupt.
