Mercenary Bandits
Mercenary Bandits abound in the Persian Empire. They come in two flavors, those that randomly attack and those who are hired to attack.

Regardless of whether you decide to jump into the bandit lifestyle yourself, you can enlist the help of mercenary bandits to do your dirty work. If a particular rival company is causing you distress, you have the option to hire mercenary bandits to attack the caravans of that company at a cost of 300 silver pieces per attack. Bandits hired by a rival company can be fought off, but not bribed.

On the other hand, if you wish to protect yourself from an attack by random mercenary bandits, you can allocate silver pieces to any of your Caravans to offer to mercenary bandits as a bribe in lieu of stealing your cargo. When attacked, your caravan will first attempt to fight off the bandits and if unsuccessful, will then attempt to bribe them.

To hire bandits to attack a company, click on Covert Operations on the left navigation menu. From here, select the company you wish to harass, and specify how many times you want them attacked.

You can use this same page to allocate silver pieces to your Caravans in case you are attacked by random mercenary bandits. Simply specify how many silver pieces you want to give to any Caravan to use in attempts to bribe off possible attacks. You can't buy off all bandit attacks, but offering less than 100 silver pieces will most likely just insult them.

Be Careful! As your company gains more renown, bandits will take notice of your company and attempt to ransack your caravans more often.
